You’ll be welcomed with warm smiles and friendly faces as you arrive at the campsite from 5pm on Friday. This is your chance to meet your hosts and fellow adventurers.
As the sun sets, we’ll gather for a delicious group meal around a crackling campfire. Get ready for a night of great company, laughter, and unforgettable memories!
Saturday 22nd May 2027
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off on a 9-mile guided walk through the dramatic Cheddar Gorge, taking in the iconic Cliff-top walk and soaking up breathtaking views of this stunning limestone landscape. The trail winds past rolling hills, rugged cliffs, and serene valley, giving plenty of opportunities for photos and quiet moments in nature.
Once the walk is complete, there’s time to explore Cheddar village at your own pace. Wander through the charming streets, or simply relax with a coffee before we head back to camp.
In the evening, unwind under the open sky and enjoy a rustic campfire dinner cooked in Dutch ovens, followed by indulgent sweet treats by the fire. It’s the perfect combination of walking, adventure, and a taste of Somerset life – a weekend to remember!

After breakfast, we’ll set off for a memorable day around Cheddar Gorge. We’ll explore Gough’s Cave, discovering its stunning formations and dramatic underground chambers. Take your time to wander and marvel at the incredible natural beauty of this iconic site.
By early afternoon, we’ll say our goodbyes, taking home memories of a weekend filled with breathtaking scenery, adventure, and a true taste of Cheddar.

Cheddar Gorge, Somerset
Cheddar Gorge is located in Somerset, England, near the village of Cheddar, nestled in the stunning Mendip Hills. This dramatic limestone landscape is famous for its cliffs, caves, and the world-renowned Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company.
By Car: The village of Cheddar is easily accessible from the M5. The Gorge is approximately 10 miles from Weston-super-Mare, 25 miles from Bristol, and 75 miles from London.
By Train: The nearest railway station is in Wells or Bristol Temple Meads, from where you can take a taxi (around £25-£30*) or bus to Cheddar (around 25–30 minutes).
By Bus: Local bus routes serve Cheddar village. Take FIRST Bus 126 (Sundays 826)* to Cheddar from Bristol Temple Meads or Wells.
Whether arriving by car, train, or bus, Cheddar Gorge is easy to reach and makes the perfect base for a weekend of walking, exploring, and tasting the famous local cheese.

Accommodation Information
Nestled in the heart of Somerset, this campsite is the perfect base for your Cheddar Gorge adventure. Surrounded by open fields and rolling hills, this peaceful campsite offers a true escape into nature while keeping you close to the action. Spacious pitches, friendly hosts, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere make it ideal for walking weekends, camping trips, and exploring the stunning Mendip landscape.
Facilities:
Toilet and Shower Blocks: There are 28 individual toilet and 18 individual shower cubicle, wash hand basins, mirrors, flush toilets, seat, clothes hooks and soap dispensers.
- Additional Amenities:
- Info Tent – You can charge devices in the Info tent at no cost but left at your risk. We’re happy for you to dry your hair and blow up your airbed.
- Washing/Drying clothes – additional charge

Important notes
- Dogs are welcome on this event but must remain on a lead at all times. At present time, the dogs are allowed at the campsite and caves, but there might be restriction on going to The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company .
- We take photos during our walks for promotional and training purposes. If you prefer not to be included, just let us know on the day.
- Cancellation policy states: Please note that all deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel your walking holiday within 60 days of the start date, the full balance is payable and no refund will be issued. Cancellations made between 60 and 90 days before the start date will receive a 50% refund, excluding the non-refundable deposit. For cancellations made more than 90 days in advance, you will receive a full refund of any payments made, minus the deposit.
- If you have chosen to pay the deposit only, please note that the final payment is due no later than 60 days prior to the start of the event. If we have not received full payment by this time your booking may be readvertised and you will loose your deposit.
- If you are a loyalty card member, please pay only the deposit to secure your place and we will send you payment details for a reminder.
