Learn more aboutthis wonderful walk
Discover the quieter side of the Gravesham district on this guided countryside walk led by the experienced Boots on Adventures team. Covering approximately 8.5 miles, this circular route combines woodland, farmland, and rural villages to create a varied and enjoyable walking experience.
Starting from Sole Street Station, where there is parking at the station, the route quickly leaves the built-up area behind and enters open countryside. Wide field paths and rural tracks provide an easy introduction to the walk, with expansive views across the surrounding landscape helping to create a real sense of space.
One of the highlights of the route is Jeskyns Community Woodland, a large and carefully managed green space that blends woodland planting, open grassland, and wildlife habitats. The broad pathways here provide a peaceful section of the walk and offer a contrast to the surrounding farmland.
The route then continues towards Cobham, a village well known for its historic character and countryside setting, before moving onwards to Lower Luddesdown through a quieter network of rural lanes and paths. This section of the walk showcases the more hidden corners of the Gravesham area, with gentle scenery and peaceful surroundings throughout.
As we approach Camer Park, the landscape shifts again, with mature woodland and parkland adding another layer of variety to the route. From here, the walk gradually circles back towards Sole Street, completing a satisfying and well-balanced countryside loop.
The walk is expected to take around four and a half hours at a sociable pace, allowing time to enjoy the scenery and take short breaks along the way. The terrain is mixed but manageable, making it suitable for walkers with a reasonable level of fitness.
With its combination of open countryside, woodland trails, and traditional Kent villages, this walk offers a rewarding day out for those looking to explore a lesser-known but beautiful part of the county.
