A quick intro
Experience one of Kent’s most spectacular stretches of coastline on this guided walk from Margate to Broadstairs. Starting from Dreamland Car Park in Margate on Saturday 5th September 2026, this 10-mile route combines peaceful countryside with dramatic coastal scenery, showcasing the very best of the Isle of Thanet.
Leaving Margate, we’ll initially head inland through rolling countryside, passing open fields and a historic windmill before arriving in the traditional seaside town of Broadstairs. From there, we join the coast and follow the spectacular shoreline back towards Margate, taking in dramatic white chalk cliffs, golden sandy beaches, and uninterrupted sea views.
Walking at a relaxed pace, we’ll enjoy the ever-changing coastline, with opportunities to walk along the beach itself where the tide and conditions allow. Returning to Margate, we’ll pass the historic Winter Gardens, stroll along the Harbour Arm, and finish beside the iconic Turner Contemporary, bringing the day to a memorable close.

- We welcome friendly dogs on our walks, provided they remain on a lead at all times. The owner is fully responsible for their dog throughout the walk.

Discover one of England’s finest coastal walks on this guided adventure led by the experienced Boots on Adventures team. Covering approximately 10 miles, this route combines peaceful countryside, dramatic white cliffs, award-winning beaches, and two of Kent’s most characterful seaside towns, creating an unforgettable day on the coast.
Beginning at Dreamland Car Park in Margate, the walk initially leaves the seafront behind to explore the quieter side of Thanet. Following country lanes, open farmland, and well-maintained footpaths, the route passes one of the area’s historic windmills before reaching the charming seaside town of Broadstairs.
From Broadstairs, we turn south and begin our spectacular return along the King Charles III England Coast Path, following one of the most beautiful sections of Kent’s coastline beneath towering white chalk cliffs. This dramatic stretch offers sweeping views across the English Channel and is one of the highlights of the day.
The coastal section passes some of Thanet’s most celebrated beaches. Viking Bay, in the heart of Broadstairs, is regularly recognised as one of Britain’s best beaches, thanks to its sweeping golden sands, elegant promenade, and classic seaside character. Continuing along the coast, we reach Botany Bay, praised by Lonely Planet’s Kent Coast Guide for its unspoilt pale sands, striking chalk stacks, and exceptional rock pooling opportunities. The walk also passes Joss Bay and Palm Bay, each offering spectacular coastal scenery and expansive sea views.
