Lullingstone Country Park walk

Lullingstone to Shoreham: A Scenic Stroll Through History and Countryside

A quick intro

Come and enjoy a guided walk through the rolling countryside of the Darent Valley, taking in some of Kent’s most scenic landscapes and historical landmarks. We’ll follow peaceful paths through Lullingstone Country Park, with time to pause, enjoy the views, and chat along the way.

We’ll start and finish at Lullingstone, walking at a relaxed, steady pace.

A little about where we’re walking:
Lullingstone Country Park is a gem of the Kent countryside, with ancient woodlands, sweeping meadows, and wildlife-rich trails. It’s home to the ruins of a Roman villa and the magnificent Lullingstone Castle – once visited by Henry VIII and Queen Anne.

Shoreham, our turning point, is a picturesque village nestled in the valley, with charming cottages, a riverside setting, and a peaceful, timeless feel – the perfect place for a rest before we head back.

There are a couple of climbs along the way, but the views over the valley are more than worth it. We’d love for you to join us.

Learn more aboutthis wonderful walk

This walk is all about slowing down, soaking up the views, and discovering a bit of Kent’s rich history along the way.

We’ll be starting in Lullingstone Country Park, a beautiful stretch of ancient woodland and open meadows. It’s the kind of place where you can hear birdsong, spot wildflowers, and feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. As we follow the Darent Valley Path, we’ll wind our way through gently rolling hills and quiet countryside – there are a couple of climbs, but we’ll take them at an easy pace, and the views from the top are worth every step.

Our halfway point is Shoreham, a charming little village nestled in the valley. It’s peaceful, full of character, and a lovely spot to pause, have a breather, and maybe even a snack. Then we’ll loop back toward Lullingstone, passing by some amazing history – the ruins of a Roman villa, and Lullingstone Castle, which has royal connections going back centuries.

No need to worry about directions – this is a guided walk, so you can simply enjoy the journey. Whether you’re coming for the exercise, the scenery, or just a good chat with fellow walkers, this is a great way to spend time outdoors and explore a special corner of Kent.

We’d love for you to come along!
