Doddington, a charming village that dates back to the Domesday Book of 1086, is full of historical intrigue. The name “Doddington” is believed to come from the Old English personal name “Dodd”, combined with the suffix “-ing”, indicating “the settlement of Dodd’s people.” The village has a rich agricultural heritage, with its surrounding farmland still playing a key role in the area today.
As we begin our walk from the village, we’ll pass through peaceful woodlands and expansive grasslands, offering a tranquil environment where you can take in the beauty of the natural world. The walk will guide us through the fields that have been part of this farming landscape for centuries, with views stretching across the Kent countryside.
During this walk, you’ll have the chance to explore the quiet charm of Doddington’s rural setting, with traditional farmhouses and cottages nestled along the route, each with its own story to tell.
With any luck, we’ll be treated to a beautiful sunset as we end our walk, adding a magical touch to the peaceful charm.
