Join us on Wednesday 22nd July for a rewarding and scenic loop walk from Cuxton, winding deep into the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty via the tranquil Luddesdown Valley.
This 14.9 km loop is one for those who enjoy a bit of a challenge — with multiple steep climbs and a total ascent of nearly 400m, it’s perfect if you’re building strength and stamina. In return, expect fantastic views, quiet rolling countryside, and a mix of woodland, fields, and hills.

Join us for a scenic circular hike starting from Cuxton, where we’ll set off with beautiful views over the River Medway and the striking Blue Lake. This walk marks the first of many weekday adventures led by our wonderful guide, Rachel.
Cuxton has a long history dating back to Roman times and was once home to an important medieval chalk quarry. The village is also known for St. Michael and All Angels Church, which dates back to the Norman period and is believed to stand on the site of an earlier Saxon church.
Our route will take us through the peaceful village of Luddesdown, an area steeped in history and designated as an exceptional landscape. Once part of a medieval manor, Luddesdown is home to Luddesdown Court, a 12th-century hall house and one of the oldest surviving timber-framed buildings in England. The surrounding countryside has remained largely untouched for centuries, offering a glimpse into Kent’s rural past.
Along the way, we’ll follow part of the North Downs Way, enjoying stunning countryside views as we walk through rolling fields and quiet woodlands. This walk is the perfect way to experience the Kent countryside at its finest, with fresh air, scenic trails, and the option to end with a well-earned pub stop to relax and reflect on the journey.

Friendly dogs are welcome! Please ensure they’re leashed when needed, especially around fields with livestock. Owners are always fully responsible for their dogs.
