Put Your Boots On: Discover Kent with Our Self-Guided Walking Holidays
By Boots On Adventures – Just a Small Team Who Love to Walk
Hi! We’re the team behind Boots On Adventures, and we’ve got a question for you:
When was the last time you truly slowed down?
Just you, the open trail, a map in your hand (or your phone!), and the feeling that the day is yours to explore.
We’re a small, Kent-based business—not a big corporate company. We’ve walked every route we offer. We’ve tested every trail, stopped for coffee in local cafes, and paused at those magical viewpoints that photos never do justice.
We created these self-guided walking holidays in Kent because we believe this is the best way to experience the county we call home. And if you’re new to walking holidays—don’t worry. We were once just like you.
Walking at Your Own Pace—No Rush, No Rules
A self-guided walking holiday means freedom. You choose the route, the pace, the coffee stops (very important), and even when to start your day. We sort out the maps, routes, and all the planning. If you want, we can even help with places to stay and moving your bags between stops.
It’s your walk—we just make it easy and safe.

We speak to so many people who say things like:
- “I’m not really a hiker…”
- “What if I get lost?”
- “I’d love to try something like this, but I’m not sure I can do it.”
Trust us—you absolutely can.
You don’t need to be super fit. You don’t need fancy gear. You just need comfy shoes and a bit of curiosity. Our routes come with clear, easy-to-follow directions and GPS files. Plus, we’re only ever a phone call away while you’re out.
We’re here to help you feel confident—before you even take your first step.
Why Walk in Kent? (Other Than It’s Gorgeous)
We might be biased, but Kent really is special. This county has it all:
The White Cliffs of Dover – yes, they’re even better in person
The North Downs Way – big skies, rolling hills, peaceful woodlands
Seaside towns – like Whitstable and Deal, where a pint and a portion of chips tastes better after a good day’s walk
History everywhere – castles, churches, smugglers’ trails and more
And the best part? You don’t have to travel far. Whether you’re local or visiting from London or beyond, it’s easy to get here and even easier to fall in love with it.
Our Favourite Routes – Tried, Tested, and Loved by Us
The Kent Coast Path – one of our most popular routes. Seaside air, dramatic views and plenty of spots for coffee or ice cream. Great for beginners.
The North Downs Way – a classic, with ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows. Ideal if you want a deeper dive into Kent’s countryside.
Elham Valley and Beyond – quieter, more rural, and beautifully peaceful. Perfect if you’re looking to unplug for a few days.
Who We Are (and Why That Matters)
We’re not a company built from spreadsheets and booking forms. We’re walkers. Locals. Friends who turned a passion into something we could share with others.
We started Boots On Adventures because we genuinely love where we live, and we wanted others to experience Kent the way we do—on foot, with curiosity, joy, and no pressure.
When you walk with us, you’re not booking with a faceless brand. You’re walking the same paths we walk; with the same excitement we feel every time we lace up our boots.
Is This for You? (Yes, It Probably Is)
Our walking holidays are for:
- People who’ve never tried one before but want to
- Couples looking for something different
- Solo adventurers looking to clear their heads
- Families who want time together without screens

You don’t need experience. Just a willingness to take that first step—we’ll walk you through the rest.
Let’s Go Walking Together

A Few Final Thoughts
If you’re still thinking, “Maybe one day,” that’s okay. Keep us in mind. Save this post. Reach out when you’re ready—we’ll be here.
And if you’ve got questions, no matter how small (What boots should I wear? Will my phone signal work? Can I bring my dog?), just ask. We’ve been there.
We can’t wait to walk with you—in spirit, in support, and on the trail.
